So it begins. We spent the day in the bay checking ice and starting to plan and stake our road. We will have our work cut out for us the next couple of weeks as we have some rough spots that are the worst I have seen in the last fifteen years.
We have a large stretch of 10 inches of ice for about a 1/4 mile out and then it is the thick, broken and shaled stuff that needs to be knocked down in order to traverse it. For the next week we will be dragging, flooding and will log a whole lot of hours with a pick-axe to get it knocked down.
